Yao is a shy, polite guy. He is hard-working, intelligent, and ambitious, and though he doesn't look like it, he will take risks to get what he wants, whatever he needs to succeed. He thinks logically, but he leans more on the optimist side, and he hates to get himself into pointless fights. He is very blunt, he doesn't think before he speaks, but if he knows he might have potentially said something that was offensive, he'll apologize. He has a thirst to learn, and he loves to come on top, and he thinks there is nothing more pleasing in the world than to please someone, especially his father.
If you get on Yao's good side ,you'll find a more outgoing and a sweeter version of how he acts normally. He's very caring, and smiles more. He is very artistic, and he loves to draw and paint, and wear colorful clothing. If you get on Yao's even better side, i.e., you become his significant, you'll see he's very romantic. He has a soft spot for children.
Ziyang Zhang was born in China, but at the age of eight, his family emigrated to Great Britain, settling in Manchester. The top in his class, he was an arrogant and strict young man by the time he returned to China at the age of twenty, to attend Tsinghua University. While attending, he resided with his mother's best friend and her daughter, Naiying.
Naiying was also twenty, beautiful, intelligent, but extremely willful, and she could sense her mother's underlying wish for her to marry Ziying, refusing him for two years before she backed down and said yes to a date. Over the next four years, they were a crazy, on and off relationship, both were prone to anger and there were breaks from the relationship, where they did not speak to the other and each pretended the other didn't exist, but they always found themselves in each other's arms, wanting to move forward together.
The pair was twenty-eight when Ziying randomly proposed on a walk around Beijing, truly expecting her to refuse, but surprisingly, Naiying consented, and the pair were married in a elaborate wedding ceremony a year later, and nine months after their wedding, their only child, a son they named Yao, was born.
A well-timed job offer a few months after Yao was born sent the family of three to England, and they settled in a well-sized apartment in London. Although their move to England meant that the possibility of having more children was open to Ziying and Naiying, they never had any more children, and Yao grew up an only child.
